Sciton Broad band light (BBL)
Broadband Light Therapy is also known as a Photofacial. BBL is a type of light treatment that has become popular for its ability to treat multiple skin concerns.
BBL is a non invasive procedure that uses high intensity light to improve skin conditions and promote collagen production, which can lead to firmer, clearer and more youthful skin.
BBL targets a range of skin issues including sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, redness and uneven skin tone and texture.
What to do before your treatment

Use Sunscreen and physical sun protection

Avoid extended sun exposure, i.e. beach, travel to sunny locations, sunbathing, sports outdoors

Inform your BBL clinician if you have been prescribed Accutane in the last 6 months

Inform your clinician of any medical conditions or medications you are taking that may increase your light sensitivity, affect healing or coagulation
What to expect during your treatment

The procedure is typically gentle and safe

Your clinician may apply topical anesthetic

Your eyes will be protected with safety shields

You may feel warm or rubber band snap sensations as the light is absorbed into the treated area
What to do after your treatment

You may experience some redness in the treatment area that should resolve within a few hours

You may notice darkening of your pigmented spots, followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage

Follow your clinician's aftercare plan until your skin is completely healed. This is typically one week after the treatment
